Me Pot O’ Gold

I’m standin’ by me pot o’ gold
On this St. Patrick’s Day,
And don’t be thinkin’ if ye find it
I’ll give it away;
For I’ve been workin’ long and hard,
A-diggin’ up the clay,
Just tryin’ hard to save a penny
For a rainy day;

So here’s a four-leaf Shamrock
And good luck to ye I say,
Now with an Irish Blessing
Ye had best be on yer way;
I’ll not be givin’ ye the chance
To steal me hard-earned pay,
I plan to keep me pot o’ gold
On this St. Patrick’s Day.

Ye think that at the rainbow’s end
The pot o’ gold will lay,
But ye will never find it there
I’ll whisk it far away;
For I am swift and ye’ll do well
To listen when I say,
I’m standin’ by me pot o’ gold
On this St. Patrick’s Day.
