Fantasia On The Vagaries Of Love

Chapter Two

The following day, the Count arrived at the appointed hour via the back entrance, where the butler stood with bated breath. He escorted the lover to the Princess’ private quarters. As soon as they met, the magic was apparent. Each knew this was a treasure to be cherished. As they met, the Count gave Margaret a peck on the cheek which turned into a passionate embrace.

What was happening? The Princess had warned her intimate servants of her indiscretion. “Please sit down Albrecht. Arthur, bring some refreshment please. And how are you today?”

“O, I’m just great, it’s a beautiful day outside.”

“Well, we could go for a horseback ride later on, around the estate if you wish.”

“I’d love that.” said Albrecht.

When the refreshments where brought in, the Princess took the opportunity to snuggle up to Albrecht.

“Do you like horseback riding, Princess?”

“Please just call me Margie, and yes, when I was a young girl my father and mother had me trained by the very best in England.”

“Maybe you can teach me a thing or two,” laughed Albrecht.

“I doubt it,” smiled Margie.

After the refreshments were eaten and cleared away, they sat snuggled up to one another, Albrecht took the liberty to put his arm around Margie’s shoulder. She showed no resistance and within minutes it was a passionate embrace. Here was a love-starved woman looking for a lover. And good fortune had brought a young virile Count to her doorstep. They kissed and kissed and the temperature in the room rose to the that inside of a volcano. Albrecht broke loose from the embrace and said, “Can we finish this in the bedroom?”

“I guess we’d better,” sighed the Princess.

They stole up the staircase, the Princess like an animal to the slaughter, and climbed into bed. Here were years of being the neglected wife while her husband did god knows what. The kissing recommenced, and Albrecht caressed her breasts, Margie lay helpless on the bed, her breathing taking on the impetus of a panther about to devour its kill. They pursued one another with total abandon and then, when it was all over, they fell back on the bed totally exhausted.

They struggled up from the bed, got dressed and went horseback riding. As they mounted their steeds Margie shouted, “Boy, do I have one for you.”

“Can’t wait,” laughed Albrecht.

It was an extensive estate with a beautiful river running through and an abundance of wildlife. At one end there was a botanical gardens with a small zoo and a tropical fish pond. The zoo consisted of lions, monkeys, a small elephant and zebras. The botanical gardens contained two bald eagles. They dismounted and handed their mounts to a stable boy.

“Now follow me.” laughed Margie. As they entered the gardens, Margie said, “Wait here.” She disappeared, and in fifteen minutes returned with the gamekeeper in tow. “Now for the treat.” They walked out of the gardens into the zoo. As they opened the zoo door, they were greeted with roars of lions. Albrecht froze on the spot. Margie grabbed him by the hand, “You’re O.K. don’t worry.”
