“Now don’t get upset. You know it’s the car we inherited from your Dad. How he would have loved to see it now that we’ve restored it.”
“I thought it was good as it was.”
“But you weren’t along when we walked the aisles in car shows. He did wonder what his Ford would look like after a good going over, like some we saw.”
“I don’t remember him ever saying anything about a continental kit.”
“Those were the days I was courting you. Maybe you didn’t listen to what Dad said.”
“Courting? Was that what it was? All I can remember was the song, ‘Keep your hands to yourself’, my favourite song.”
“Let’s not go there, Diana. Come to think of it, I feel like my testosterone has dropped to a dangerously low level. Maybe a red Ford with a continental kit would help. What do you think?”
“Let’s hope not. I’m happy with it the way it is.”
“You know it was Ford that first designed a continental in 1942 on a factory produced car. They even called it The Lincoln Continental. A continental kit on your Dad’s Ford would fall right into the family tree for the oldest car maker we have in America.”
“Now you’re trying to sound like a lofty historian. Well ,then, how much more is it going to cost to install it?”
“Shipping, taxes, installation, paint… Maybe another $2500? I don’t know.”
