Block Island In Summer

Sun on Block Island:
from the inner rim
of the Orion arm
of the Milky Way Galaxy
to pines and oaks
and bluffs and bathers
and piping plover wing.
Crab shell to
driftwood to mussel,
light just touching,
earmarks of warm,
of all is well.
Huts beyond sea-grass,
dog on a leash,
joggers powered
by salt breeze,
car cruising
as slow as the life.
