At Close Observation

Monarchs and silver-spots
cruise the buds
of a large pink field
of blossoming milkweed

They choose a flower,
sip nectar,
suddenly rise up,
play-scrap with each other
before settling back down
on their respective plants.

How small their world
and yet so much more than plenty.
